HDD disks are conventional disks, which have a pen for reading and writing. They tend to be slower precisely because they are all mechanical. SSD disks are Flash memories (like a pendrive), in which reading and writing are up to 10 times faster than a conventional HDD disk, considerably increasing the performance of websites and applications.
